On Point Pudelpointers origin story begins with Sigbot “Bodo” Winterhelt as the first Pudelpointer the Skelton family received was bred and trained by Bodo. Javoule (Yah-Vool), one of Bodo's last litters was truly a versatile hunting dog that set such a precedent that the breed has now been part of the Skelton household for well over two decades. Javoule's outstanding natural working abilities in combination with intelligence, love for water, retrieving instinct, easy trainability and willingness to please was unwavering and precursory to their mainstay in the Skelton family.

As one of the finest performers in field tests, the Pudelpointer in its home country Germany has long been esteemed by those who enjoy and value dogs with strong desire and drive. These traits in concert with a sharp nose, birdiness, pointing instinct, and endurance help make the Pudelpointer one of the more worthy versatile hunting dogs both near and abroad. As their reputed protective nature would suggest, On Point Pudelpointers produces outstanding family dogs with working traits that meet high standards both a field and at home. They're loving nature and drive to be a warm and glowing member of the family is arguably their most favored trait!”
